Little Chicks Life Lessons

Life Lessons

Who is Little Chick?

During two decades of working within learning and development roles Alison noticed that much of the self-doubt expressed in these corporate development sessions was born from experiences during people’s formative years. This led Alison to reflect on her own experiences as a child, and how she was encouraged to explore her dreams by her parents.

Realising this was a privilege that not every child has, Alison strived to pioneer the way for other children that didn’t have the same opportunities. She developed an educational programme which would empower children to Dream, Believe, Achieve.

A recent study found that 88 per cent of young people in Britain today say they ‘lack confidence and doubt they will succeed in life.

Little Bird is on a mission to address this through our Life Lessons. With the help of Founder, Alison Delaney’s self-published books; Little Chick has Lunch on the Moon, Little Chick Finds His First Best Friend, and LIttle Chick’s Nest Egg, the Life Lessons programme is dedicated to allowing our children to explore and develop their dreams and aspirations, to support our children to identify the unique and special qualities they possess to be the best they can be, and to increase the understanding of saving and healthy financial habits.

But the Little Chick Trilogy is more than books. It’s a life-long gift of emotional tools to help build resilience, confidence and self-belief in order to provide essential life skills and raise aspirations. By using the books as  tools for learning, not only do they add to the literacy program, but their ability to enhance PSHE education is invaluable.

A Visit From The Mayor

Andy Street made time in his incredibly busy calendar to come and visit the children of Shirestone Academy to hear how Little Chicks Life Lessons has made a difference to the way they see their opportunities in life.

The children shared heartwarming examples of their dreams and the steps they’re already taking to achieve them.

Andy talked with every child about their aspirations and even shared his own inspirational story.

The children really are a credit to Nadeem Bashir , Head Teacher and all of his wonderfully committed team and a huge thank you to Nathan Wallis and Wesleyan for their generous sponsorship enabling the school to be a part of the programme.
